Volunteer Fire Fighters
We have a volunteer fire department that are paid for their attendance at fires, on call, training, etc. We are updating our Fire Fighter Remuneration Policy, and would like to add wording to cover:
1. Attendance at Wildfires for the province and how the attending firefighters will be reimbursed. We have been reimbursing them for the attendance at the rate approved and billed by the province, but would like to update that amount. Any comments about how others are handling this would be appreciated.
2. An Employee who is also a member of the Volunteer Fire Department - how they are paid while attending a fire during their regular business hours, and outside of their regular hours.
Any copies of policies or wordings for these situations would be greatly appreciated.
