Tax Sale - Receivership

We have a property that is up for tax sale that is in receivership. Since the company is in receivership, any proceedings with the City are stayed and they are stating the property cannot be taken for tax sale. Have any other Muni's ever run into this? Can we still take the property for tax sale? Doug Stein....are you out there?!!

  • I would get a legal opinion from your lawyers - however we cannot sell a property that has gone into escheat. You can look up the act for that - but it is companies that have been dissolved. That may or may not be the case for your company - best to send all the info you have to your lawyer and ask them though.
